Time Honored Tradition

Every year growing up my family decorated gingerbread cookies and hung them on the tree. We weren't allowed to eat them until Christmas day. Believe me, they weren't/aren't yucky that way. In fact, I think they taste great -- like a ginger snap!

This year I couldn't help but do it again (we've done it almost every year since we've been married), and we invited my younger brother and his girlfriend to come over and decorate them with us. We had a blast. Jackson even got in on the fun; well, that is the fun of eating all of the decorations! Here he is high-fiveing (yes, my own word!) Uncle Ken who was helping him decorate, or "paint" as Jackson calls it, his gingerbread man.

Ken gets the most-creative award for his hula-girl and surfer-dude. Can you find them in the pictures below?

Also, can you find:

1. Santa Claus?
2. Matt's stick person?
3. The referee and the b-ball player?
4. A bumblebee?

You can't tell on the camera, but Matt even made an anatomically correct woman using chocolate chips and painting over them to make a dress. Very creative.

  5. It's obvious this has been a long-standing tradition...those are very creative gingerbread people! What fun! Next you should try creating specific people...celebrities, political figures, etc. :)
