So quite a while ago I was tagged by Sis. Linford to talk about six quirks I have. I've modified the rules a bit, as she'll notice. It's been hard thinking of quirks -- I think I'm perfect! Ha!
1. More and more I'm realizing that I like to make my bed a certain way. I like square corners at the end of the bed, and please, please, please don't let the sheet show from underneath the bed spread. I don't get mad at Matt anymore for not making the bed -- I'd rather do it myself.
2. Of all the household chores, I hate to dust the most -- stinks that I live in a dusty state!
3. I rub my feet together under the sheets at night. (I can NOT wear socks to bed!) I think it was a nervous habit that turned into a necessity to fall asleep. When we first got married, I would try to rub Matt's feet -- that bothered him to no end. That's how I recognized my bad habit. I forgot about that one until we were changing our flannel sheets one day and the fitted sheet was worn the most where my feet had been -- there was even a small hole there.
4. I hate to wear socks. I prefer to wear sandals or flip flops. Unfortunately, that means my feet are either really cold during the winter or always dry and cracked during the summertime.
5. I have a hard time "flying by the seat of my pants." As a teacher, it was hard for me to change lesson plans on a whim. I have to have a schedule to get anything done. I even have a schedule with Jackson (it's not too rigid), but we keep the routine most everyday. I actually feel that this has helped him so much more because he knows what to expect and when to expect it. Of course, we do love to surprise him every now and then!
6. (I can't believe I'm telling you this one.) When I'm upset or concentrating really hard I bite my tongue. It's my equivalent of clenching my fists. You can see when I do it, too, because I curl the tip of my tongue behind my bottom teeth and bite down causing my mouth to be partially open. The funny thing is, a couple of my brothers and my mom do this, too.
Instead of tagging anyone in particular, I'll open the question up to everyone out there. What's one quirk you have?
Ohhh, so many. I'll have to think about it a few days . . .
ReplyDeleteMy Dad does the foot thing. My mom says he's like a cricket when he's falling asleep. And the tongue thing is funny because Bryan, his Dad and Peter all stick their tongues out between their teeth when they're concentrating. Maybe there's some undiscovered link between thinking hard and biting your tongue!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh LeMira! I can see you biting your tongue. You did it so much growing up! Maybe you were always mad at me... hummmm...
ReplyDeleteWhat a darling blog!! I love it. I think I will keep looking at your blog so that I can watch the NKOTB!!!
ReplyDeleteOne quirk that I have (and I do have so many, when I sat down and thought about it) I bite the inside of my lip as a nervous habbit. I have even developed arthritis in my jaw. How sad is that. I am kind of a stressed out person, and I take it out on my lip.
I clench my teeth. All the time. Sometimes I'm happily talking to Evangeline and I'll realize that I'm talking through clenched teeth. And I didn't even realize I did it until I got married, and I'm trying to stop cause I think it gives me headaches, but it's so hard not to!
ReplyDeleteI soo remember you biting your tongue, you did it alot when you played basketball ;) how funny!
ReplyDeleteluv u!
LeMira, You are so funny, and I agree you are pretty much perfect thats why I tagged you, I wanted to see if you had any quirks, and amazingly enough you have many of the same quirks as me. I guess great minds think alike. By the way I love reading your blog.
