Did you know that this week is National Infertility Awareness Week? I know I've mentioned this before, but technically I'm not infertile; however, I can't have children. I feel like I can relate to a lot of the feelings that come from not being able to bear more children. Six months ago I posted a link to an article called "Infertility Etiquette." If you haven't read it, you should. I posted my opinion about the article as well at this post: A Little Etiquette Reminder.
Today I want to share with you a video that portrays the many emotions and questions that I have asked myself over the last 4 1/2 years.
What IF? A Portrait of Infertility from Keiko Zoll on Vimeo.

Well done. That video made me cry. Lately I've noticed that almost every woman I meet asks me when I am going to have another baby. I have to go into my history with infertility, explain that I feel so blessed to have 2 healthy kids... it's a little tiring, but I much prefer the honest route rather than making something up. I have a friend who just lost a baby (he only lived a week on life support) a few weeks ago and it breaks my heart. She said that her innocence about pregnancy is lost. There are many different forms of "infertility."
ReplyDeleteThat video...was beautiful. And heartbreaking.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love that blog title too...love that infertility is in the bible.
