After just one trip to the pool, I'm certain I made the right decision. As long as he has the life jacket, and there are lifeguards on duty, who needs swim lessons?! (Just kidding. Maybe I'll pay for swim lessons next year, or better yet, next month if the budget allows.)
Just take him around the pool in your arms in the deep end and let him hang onto your neck and kick his legs. It's ALOT more fun than swim lessons...
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ruth. Rec center swim classes haven't ever done much for my kids. If you can afford a one on one tutor thats where it pays off. We have never done that but they have eventually got it the more you get them in the pool the better they do
ReplyDeleteThat looks like an awesome pool! I agree, there is not much to swimming lessons (at least for the first few years). Just get him used to putting his face in the water and blowing bubbles, floating on his back and kicking with straight legs. That is seriously all they teach them.
