The other day we went to the pool with some friends, and while riding in the river, Jackson asked, "Mom, can we go in the Lazy Liver again?"
Later that day I called to him that it was time to go pick up Daddy at the bus stop and noticed Jackson wasn't wearing shoes. I asked, "Do you want to put on shoes, find your flip flops, or just go with bare feet?" He answered, "I want to have berry feet!"
Last Sunday, I was teaching the kids a song about pioneers. I asked what a pioneer was, and Jackson's hand shot up. Shocked, I glanced around, saw that no one else was ready to answer, and called on Jackson. His answer, "A pioneer is grossy, crazy, grossy, and crazy." Yep, he's SIX!
Last night as we were getting ready for bed, Jackson found his play food and began feeding Matt and I dinner (at 9 p.m., I might add). He asked me for his oven (it goes with his Play Doh stuff), and I told him that he could play with it in the morning. Worried, he told me, "But it will get yucky." I knew he wouldn't go to bed without solving this problem, so an old shoebox became a refrigerator to keep the food overnight. First thing this morning, Jackson open the "fridge," asked for the oven, and baked the food.
I LOVE this kid!

What a cutie!!
ReplyDeleteI love when kids do this. I loved that about the show Rugrats! They always used the words as kids heard them, not necessarily what was really said. I have seen some great emails sent around about how kids say the Pledge of Allegiance or sing the National Anthem. love it.
ReplyDeleteMaybe "berry feet" are really really Bare feet...
ReplyDeletean old shoebox for a fridge shows a good progression of thought from the Mom.
