So much for good news! Our new caseworker called today to inform us that we need certified copies of our birth certificates, our marriage certificate, and our temple sealing certificate due to the agency's new policy . First of all, you can't get another copy of your sealing certificate, they don't keep a sealing certificate on hand. Luckily, the caseworker said we can just bring in our copy and the secretary will sign that she's seen it. Secondly, this means I'm going to have to pay an extra $100 just to get copies of all of the certificates.
I did ask our caseworker about our profile and if it's been shown to anyone. Well, no, it hasn't. How disappointing! She didn't indicate why . . . are we too strange to be shown or just not the right type? It is time for an interim visit (3-month check-up); although a little late, we will be meeting with her on Monday. We will be finding out why we haven't been shown to any potential birth moms. It's not hard to feel that my prayers have been a little in vain, but I'm trying to keep those negative thoughts away. Perhaps there just aren't any girls choosing adoption these days.

ReplyDeleteThat does sound frustrating. Maybe things will get more active (i.e., your profile will actually be shown) once you go visit the new caseworker.
How disappointing! I really hope this new caseworker will do a better job for you guys! Sounds like they are more on top of things then the last one...cross your fingers
