I don't love forwards, but today this was buried in one, and I just had to post it. It makes me smile. One day I'll be able to say this to my next child. . .
Some first graders were discussing a picture of a family. One little boy in the picture had a different hair color than the other members. One of the students suggested that he was adopted.
A little girl said, "I know all about adoption, I was adopted."
"What does it mean to be adopted?" asked another child.
"It means," said the girl, "that you grew in your mommy's heart instead of her tummy!"
Oh, LeMira! How do you always know how to make me cry!
ReplyDeleteJamie Lee Curtis wrote a fantastic children's book about adoption. In the story the parents are telling their adopted child how they searched all over to find them.
ReplyDeleteAdoption rocks! :-)
I like that! My sister-in-law made me a pillow with that phrase cross stitched on it when Zeke was born.
ReplyDeleteI hope you get to tell your next child that very soon!
ReplyDeleteAw- how sweet!
