Memorial Day 2015

Today is Memorial Day.  This special holiday is meant to remember those who have died serving our country.  I'm grateful to those men, women, and their families who dedicated their lives to the armed services and who sacrificed their lives for a greater good.  My thoughts are with those families who might be grieving today because they are missing a father, son, wife, or daughter who will not be returning home.

While this day is preserved and dedicated to those who have served our country, we still keep our family tradition to visit our own daughter's grave.  I love that my parents could come with us again this year.  Their testimonies and strength and knowledge have helped me throughout the last nine years without my daughter.  It was my dad who gave me a Priesthood blessing the night before Clarissa came into the world, and his words and council helped me throughout the next day.  It was my mother that has listened to my grieving and tears over the years and hugged me only the way a mother can.  Both of my parents taught me about the Plan of Salvation and Happiness and the gospel truths that have blessed my family's lives.  I love them forever.
